Reign Of The Blood King: Rain Ch 6 "Crying, Fear, and more Crying"

Reign Of The Blood King: Rain Ch 6 "Crying, Fear, and more Crying"
_________________________________________________________________________________

Night came quickly, Rain looked around and saw what looked like grass hills everywhere he looked. It was a full moon so it was very easy to see. It should be a beautiful sight but Rain felt nothing. This was because of the effects of 『Calm Mind』which basically turned off almost all emotions. But the spell was almost at its end.

"Child sit down, we need to talk."

"yes?"

Rain said softly while sitting down.

"The spell I use to talk to you before will be wearing off soon. Therefore all emotions that you would have felt will come in all at once. Now, let's continue."

He said while getting up and started walking again. After some time the spell wore off completely. The sound of Rain's cry could be heard near and far. But he didn't stop walking, he'd just cry and walk and cry some more.

                           ***

They had been walking for so long,
Rain had lost count of the hours. All he could tell was that when they left it was night time. While they walked the sun had risen and it had set again. Rain's legs were already at the point of feeling nonexistent. If he complained about it Ramses would cast healing magic on him. This would make the pain go away but only for a little bit. He had also stopped crying some time ago.

"Teacher, are we almost there?"

"Not much farther child, look you can already see my study."

Rain looked up to see. Only to find nothing but the forest they had been in since midday. He opened his mouth to speak but he stopped himself from questioning his new teacher. He knew he had to respect his teacher but other then that Rain didn't know how to act towards him. so he just stayed quiet.

They had walked a while longer, an hour at the most. When Ramses said

"Home at last, come child I trust you can find your room."

A slight nod was all Rain answered with. He wasn't sure what happened the forest that had surrounded them disappeared like it was never there. Now it was a canyon but in no way was it a normal canyon. Every bit of stone was black, so sharp it looked like you could cut yourself just by touching it. Right in the center of the canyon floating in the air was a fortress, fit to be called a dark castle.

"You shall rest for what is left of today, feel free to look around but don't touch anything. I most go and grab something I will be back"

As he finished talking a portal open behind them and Ramses walked though. Then the portal closed and he was gone.

"Wait but I... *sigh* don't know how to open the door."

Rain said while dropping his shoulders a little. Walking over to the giant doors he reached out to touch the carvings in the door. On the door to the right was a dragon carved to look like it was holding a small jewel. On the left door was a woman dressed in robes, her appearing to be playing the harp.

When Rain was about to touch the dragon carving the doors opened. Hesitantly he walked in and looked around. It gave a completely different feeling from the exterior of the fortress. From outside you would feel if you were standing in front of the last boss's home. But inside was a place of beauty, the floor was a red carpet and dragon bone chandelier hung from the ceiling. Various paintings hung from the walls that were diverse and beautiful. Most of them were of people, of course Rain didn't know anyone in these paintings but something about them was unsettling. As if each and every one of them was watching him. In the back of the room was a giant staircase that split in the middle and went in two different directions. On top of the pillars that started the rails was two gargoyles. Rain flinched when he saw them, he could have sworn they were staring at him with their heads turned towards him. Rain rubbed his eyes trying to see if he was seeing things. Looking again they were just regular gargoyles facing away from Rain.

Rain started walking upstairs, looking at the carpet which was also on the stairs. It made him want to take off his shoes and feel the soft fabric. A carpet was something he had never felt in his life. He had seen one in the castle but it was hung on the wall So he couldn't touch it. When he reached the top of the stairs he slowly bent down and put his hand on the carpet.

It's soft....

Rain who had never even heard of silk was mesmerized by a carpet made of cotton. Moreover, the carpet was dyed red which made it rougher than normal cotton. But to him it was the softest thing in the world. He lied down and just laid there. After 15mins or so he got up to continue to look around.

After some pointless wandering, he found a room that had a sigh that said 'child's room' figuring it must be his, he walked in. It was a normal size room that had a simple bed and desk. The only thing that looked out of place was the view from the window. Looking out from said window one might think to see the sky, maybe a forest, or even the canyon where this castle was built. However, none of these views was there. What was there was something only a few people have seen and lived.

It was grassland, that should have been green with a gentle breeze. But this was not the case, it was stained red. With the blood of soldiers, what could be seen was legions of soldiers fighting to the death. Mages casting their spells and war machines firing their barrage of arrows and giant boulders. Rain watched for less than a minute before he shut the blinds and covered himself with a blanket.

Sitting on a bed in a castle owned by a powerful Mage, he wept, he called for his mother and father. They didn't come, he called for his friends. They didn't come, he called for his sister.
She didn't come.

Reign Of The Blood King: Bluebell Ch 5 "A lot happened while you slept"

Reign Of The Blood King: Bluebell Ch 5 "A lot happened while you slept"
_________________________________________________________________________________

Author note: Bluebell's POV

I was scared.
It was so scary, People kept screaming and crying for help. There was so much screaming... I just wanted to cry. Papa had told me in bad times to go home so I ran as fast as I could. When I had gotten home Mama grabbed me. Crying she put me in the secret room Papa had made and then Mama close the door.

That was the last time I saw my mama. The last time I saw my papa was that morning. I was going to play with Feya that day, I'm happy she's okay though. When Rain had found me I was already crying. But I stopped because I know it would have bothered him. Especially when he was trying to save me. He didn't let me see what happened to Papa and Mama. To be honest I didn't want to see. Rain hid me in Anreum's kitchen, whatever he saw in there... the look in his eyes. He never told me what he saw, and I realized I didn't want to know.  When we had gotten to Feya I had thought she was dead. But Rain had done something with his hand and she wasn't dead anymore. Rain tried his best... I should have done better.

When Rain had fainted I was so scared. But good knights had came from the forest and they protected us. They had taken us to a big house made of stone. A nice lady had guided us to a room that was bigger then my house. When i asked the lady what her name was she told me to just call her Head Maid-san... what's a maid?

They laid Rain and Feya on a bed. They told me that Rain would be okay, but when I asked about Feya they change the subject. No... is Feya not going to wake up...? No!

Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up! Wake up!

Please... Feya... wake up...

"You can't sleep like that."

Huh Feya? Yay... your awake... huh I feel really tired...

                                                                           ***

When I wake up the sun is up. Hey Feya is here so is Maid-san. They look so scared.

"F-Feya...wha...t's wro...ng..."

Why is it so hard to talk? I can hardly move.

"Bluebell!! You woke up! I'm so happy!"

Feya said with tears in her eyes. Why? Did something happen to me?

"Miss Bluebell, are you feeling alright?"

I nod as best as I can. Maid-san looks concerned.

"Is... some... thing wro.... ng?"

Feya and Maid-san look at each other. Then a man walks in, he's tall and he has a big beard with blond hair.

"Hello child, my name is David. I'm the king. You've been asleep for four days."

"David!"

"Feya this is not the time for being sensitive. This girl is our only hope."

What? I'm the only hope? What's happening? Wait four days...?

"Miss Forestwood, I believe the king is right. We she tell her what's happened. As unfortunate as it is this child is going to have to grow up fast."

"But..."

"I know Feya. I don't want this either but as of now we don't have a choice."

Looking away Feya said

"Fine... but I'm leaving. Tell her when I'm gone."

And then Feya walked out the room. Where she going? What's happening? I'm so confused.

"Whe...re's...Ra...in...?"

"Miss Bluebell, Sir Rain is..."

"Gone. We can't find him."

"Your majesty! You shouldn't-"

"Like You said, this child has to grow up fast. For all of us."

What? Rain is gone. No! Why?! Where!? Is he ok?!? What happened while I was asleep?!?

Will I see him again...?

Reign of The Blood King: Rain Ch 4 "The first step"

Reign of The Blood King: Rain Ch 4 "The first step"
_________________________________________________________________________________

"Child, wake up"

Said the Mage to wake Rain, the Mage was an extraordinary person. Actually he was an Arch Mage. A very powerful magic caster. But he didn't look a day over 27. But this could easily be an Illusion spell, but there was no reason for him to do this... is there? The robe he wore was deep blue, like the sea. Also it had pitch black embroidery. His face was expressionless but it suited him for some reason.

Rain started to wake up from the Mage calling to him. First Rain tried sit up. He was stopped by the pain in his stomach. That pain could be seen in his face, along with a tear in eye. But he held back the tears. It was dark, so dark he could barely see. Immediately he looked around. He got a little calmer when he saw Bluebell laying at his bedside. But then he realized who was missing.

"Where's Feya?!? Where is she?!?"

"Calm down child the half-elf is fine, she is sleeping in the next room."

"Who are you...?"

Rain felt uncomfortable about this man. There was something he felt was "off" about him. Taking cation he asked again as the Mage didn't answer the first time. But this time he had mustered up his courage and shouted

"Who are you!"

The Mage continued to stare at him for a few seconds before saying.

"My name is... Ramses. Though I'm not well known rest assured I am powerful. I'm here to tell you something child."

Rain quietly asked.

"What... is it?"

Ramses glared at Rain, looking over his entire body. Then he did the same for Bluebell. When he finished his observation he turned and said to Rain.

"Child. Your name Rain correct?"

"Yes..."

"Then Rain, do you know why your home was attacked?"

"no..."

"It was because of you."

The shock was enough to put Rain at a loss of words. He repeatedly opened his mouth to say something but before he'd say anything flashes of the village pop in his head and nothing came out of his mouth. He slowly raised his hands and covered his ears.

"Rain, do you know why it's your fault?"

Rain who was trying not to hear anything, heard this. He slowly looked back up and stared at Ramses.

"Do you know the story of the Evil King and the Hero?"

Rain slowly shook his head no. His movement was so small it could hardly be called a movement.

"No? Well I guess you were just a village boy. Listen closely Rain, this is important."

While Ramses said that he casted a small mental spell.

Mental spells are normal spells that are casted with nothing but the casters mind. They are among the strongest and the highest difficulty to preform. Ramses had casted a spell of 『Calm Mind』like the name implies it forcefully calms down the target.

Due to the nature of a mental spell, Runes appear around Rain's head they glowed with a gentle green. While at first Rain was just confused and scared by the sight, but then the spell took affect. Like water cleansing away all negative emotions well, almost every emotion for that matter. Luckily though this spell was temporarily. When the effect hit is peak nothing anyone could say would make him upset well almost nothing.

"Years ago, long before your grandfather's grandfather. There was a Arch Mage who was known as the Evil King. Though no one knew what had happened to him they didn't need too. All everyone need to know about him was he was powerful... then rose a Hero. He was young, handsome and fearless Not to mention strong. He fought the Evil King and won. Peace was restored. However this is just beginning of the story. Because the next "Evil King" and "Hero" are here.
Because you and your sister are them."

Shock ran though Rains brain. But『Calm Mind』reacted and calm him down, forcefully.

"What? What do you mean my sister and me? I don't think we could be so important."

"I have seen the future, boy. You two will be their successors."

"But-"

"Rain either you or your sister will be the next Evil King. Whoever is not the Evil King will be the next Hero. So will you be the Hero? Or will you be the Evil King? But remember what you say here will change your life forever."

Rain thought to himself about what Ramses had said. He realized that whoever was the Evil King would be hunted and hated. Rain was smart for his age but he was still only 11.

I can't let Bluebell go through anything bad.

He thought to himself. Because of the spell 『Calm Mind』Rain understood the importance of his answer.

"I'll do it... I'll be the Evil King. So Let Bell be the Hero."

"...Fantastic"

Ramses said with a smile that would send shivers down ones spine. They he continued to speak.

"Then Rain come with me. I have already left a way to ensure her path to the Hero. We must leave now, Also from now on you will call me Teacher."

"Yes... teacher"

Rain said as he got out of the bed. The pain in his stomach was still there but with the effects of 『Calm Mind』he didn't mind it. He turned and quietly said bye to his sister. He thought he should be sad but all he felt was the obligation to say his goodbye to his sister. After he finished he turned and left with Ramses.
