Pandora's Box Chapter 4

_________________________________________________________________________________
In the dinner room were wood floors, limestone walls and two dragon bone chandeliers. A single maid stood at each pair of doors that were the exits.

The dinning table itself was bigger then a normal dining room. It was long and narrow, with at least 26 seats on each side. There were candies every two feet in the middle of the table.

The massive table was a hardly ever used. Neal had liked to eat in his room, but today was special.

Neal sat in the seat that was all the way to the end. To his right Astolo, his left was Asphodel. Next to her was Durose then Bella. Next to Astolo was Amodii then Dreya.

"My this is delicious... Oh before I forget, any questions?" (Astolo)

The only one in the room who's eating so happily is Astolo. Everybody else was eating too they just weren't so joyful. Set aside Astolo everyone had thinking expressions. Even the maids seemed to be "not all there".

"Then let's say Asphodel was chosen, would I be able to become a concubine?" (Dreya)

"Noooope" (Astolo)

She answered Dreya without any hesitation. Yet still as happy as ever.

"Any other questions?" (Astolo)

No one said a thing and just kept eating. Asphodel looked up multiple time to say something but stopped herself.

The group just sat there eating quietly.

                                ***

Asphodel lad in her bed and pondered

Today was... Confusing I mean Queen!?! Really Astolo...? Ah I can feel my face. It's hot, really hot.

Asphodel rolled and kicked at nothing in bed like the teenage girl she was.

But really me Queen...? But then Neal and I would be married...! We would, we'd...

The poor girl's red face only got redder as the night went on.

While Asphodel was well, being herself. Neal and Astolo talked in the throne room.

"You know dad I really only want you to be happy. You've been in this big place alone for so long. I just... Isn't it lonely? I mean it's been 20 years yet you still look the same as the day you took me in." (Astolo)

"Astolo I won't lie to you, I was lonely once. I would wonder why I never aged or why no kingdom could ever beat me. There was a time when I did almost anything just because I could. I started many wars made some friends too but none of that helped." (Neal)

He paused and took a breath in. Astolo held her breath paying very close attention to what the man she called father had say.

"I had declared war against a kingdom known as Lleh Liff. They weren't a strong kingdom and had declared surrender not two weeks after the first skirmish. I had gone to see what one of their village had been. The small village I went to had been attacked be bandits, without the protection of their own knights they were defenseless. In fact there was some people still being attacked when I arrived. I ran over but it was too late... The man and woman had been killed. The woman however clung onto life if only by a thread. When she saw me she pleaded me to save her child. And with her dying breathe she told me where she hid the child. That's how I found you under that old shed." (Neal)

Astolo tried but couldn't help but cry. About halfway she had started to hug Neal.

"I haven't been lonely for twenty years because of you my child." (Neal)

Reign Of The Blood King: Rain 1 "It starts with a scream"

Reign Of The Blood King: Rain 1 "It starts with a scream"
_________________________________________________________________________________

Rain heard his own scream, it mixed with the cries of terror that filled his village. He dropped the basket of fruit he was carrying.

What.....

the only thing Rain could think of the scene in front of him. He couldn't quite understand why Knights would be attacking his peaceful little village. Rain didn't know much about Knights, the only knight he knew was the retired Eris. Coincidently her husband was a very powerful Mage, but they had moved away years ago. From what he had learned, by the emblem on their chest, there are two platoons of Knights from different kingdoms. Though he is in too much of a panic to notice, the only reason he really noticed was the fact that they attacked each other.

After standing there in shock for a while it sank in. He ran, faster then he had ever run before. But instead of away from the village and knights, he ran into it. He passed the baker that would give him bread but he didn't stop, for the baker had a sword in his chest, and had left the living long ago; Rain passed the Doctor that healed him once and the farmer that lived next door to him both of which were dead.

Bell! Bell! Bell! Bell! Bell! Bell!

Rain chanted the only name that mattered to him. His twin sister Bluebell, they were inseparable from birth. In fact, this was only the fourth time Bell didn't go with Rain to the forest. In what seemed to be hours, as he avoided the Knights. Rain finally made it back to his house. Nothing could be heard inside. Without the time to worry about it, he slammed the door open. He almost fainted right there. His father had been killed, in way of execution. A few meters in front of his father's corpse was His mother's. Rain didn't want to think how she died. After he finished throwing up. He dragged his feet a little to the small meat locker, the small locker was somewhat hidden. Rain slowly pulled the handle that opens the door. A click could be heard along with a squeaking. The door slid open, there curled up in a ball crying was Bluebell.

"Bell... It's me, its Rain."
Though still scared Bell slowly raised her head. Rain could see the tears in her eyes, how violently she shook.

"R-R-Rain... Rain!"

Bell leaped from the floor into Rain, she hugged him so hard he couldn't breathe. Rain hugged her back, they stayed there for only a few minutes when the screams from outside made Rain return to the nightmare.

"Put this on... Till we get outside."

Bell still didn't really know just how bad it was, but she listened to Rain and put the blindfold on. He walked Bell out of the house holding the urge to vomit again. However, he himself was shaking violently from everything he witnessed this day. Getting outside Rain removed Bell's blindfold. Now that he found Bell he just had to find their two friends, Feya, and Anreum, then get out of village and to safety. This would be hard, as they were only 11 this year.

Reign Of The Blood King: Prologue

_________________________________________________________________________________

The King looked down on the nobles that come bearing gifts for him, he was not happy. His face was clearing show his displeasure. Knowing this, just about all the nobles in the room were terrified.

The room they were in was the Throne room, It was a very large room with tile floors and white limestone walls. the kingdom's emblem was chiseled in the walls. pillars shaped like knights held the roof up high, each of them also had the emblem on their chest. These stone knights were golems set to defend the king if need be.

Bang! The sound of large doors sounded throughout the room. At the entrance stood a woman. The clothes she wore completely covered up her face and body.

"You don't need that mask you know, I know it's you."

"I had hoped we could have... Nonetheless, Blood King Rain! I shall end your tyranny here!"

The woman said while taking off the cloth that covered her face

Rain had a mixed expression some was anger but most of it was sadness. He dropped his head down till you wouldn't be able to see his face. Then he rapidly raised his head, laughing he stared at the ceiling.

"I have been waiting for this day for a long time... Golems"

The instant Rain said that the stone Knights that were in the room began to move. They had taken defensive positions around Rain. At the time the golem knights had all gotten into place two more people came through the door.

A half-elf and a beast-kin. Rain had known all of them for as long as he could remember. Still, that would not matter.

"In times of light, I shall be the darkness.

When faith is strong, I will bring Angst.

When talk of peace can be heard, I will raise the rage of men.

In vengeance, I shall have no mercy.

In the midst of battle, I shall strike fear in their hearts.

When I am about to take their life, I shall have no remorse.

Summon! Malum Arachne"

As Rain spoke the chant pitch black runes came seeming out of nowhere.  The Runes then began to spin in a circle. They span faster and faster till you couldn't tell that they were runes. Then another ring appeared and then another, till the rings hit the ground. All of the rings disappear, and there was a 3-meter tall woman. From her waist down was the body of a spider. Her black exoskeleton was smooth like steel yet it was stronger than diamonds. On her arms, she wore steel gauntlets that had 1.5 meter long blades. Along the sides of her abdomen were dark red pulsating symbols. Strangely these symbols look very similar to the runes.

"Eh...? Master why did... Oh. You."

"Yomi... Attack."

"With pleasure master."

Yomi jumped with an incredible force to the wall. The three companies that stood at the door readied their weapons and wand. Yomi then flung herself at the three, her blades pointed at two of them.

Their blades about to strike each other.

Why is it like this? Hasn't everything I've done been for you? Everything was so nice then... Yet I will move forward. I am here for you. the Blood King, I never liked this name but it's mine. I took this throne like the others yet...
