Reign Of The Blood King: Feya 3 "Talk with the king"

Reign Of The Blood King: Feya 3 "Talk with the king"
_________________________________________________________________________________

(Author note: Point of view change, if you look at the title, the name of the character that the view is written there.)

It was just a normal day...
Or at least that's how it started.
I've lived in this village for almost 150 years now. Nothing like this has ever happened before. We've been attacked before but only by small monsters and bandits. Never by knights, never by this many.
I wish I would have taken those magic lessons, maybe then I could... maybe I could have saved them. All I could do was run. I'm such a coward. I should do something, anything. But all I'm doing is shaking. Maybe it's my age but I'm not panicking, I'm just scared, No I'm just frozen from the fear, it won't let me panic.
If you looked at me you'd think I'm 12. I used to hate this but I think the knights are only killing the adults. Now that I think about it I never told Rain and Bluebell my real age. I wonder if they're still alive...? Maybe one of the knights found them and he... no! I can't think like that. I can't bear to think what happened to them. They're just kids.
I've been hiding under this wagon for almost the entire time. I saw a knight run into Rain and Bluebell's house. He's been in there for a while. I should help, why can't I let go of my legs? Oh, that's right... I can't do anything to help.
No! Even if it's hardly anything I'll try! Wiping my tears I start to crawl out from the under the wagon. Huh, what's that? Ack!

                                                                           ***

Ouch! Ugh... my heads killing me. Wha? Where am I? Wait... I know this place? Don't I? What's with this bed? No stop, answer your own first question before asking more.

Think...

Is...? Is this the royal palace?!? Why am I here!?! I haven't been here for like 40 years!!! Calm down me! Calm down, ok I can think a little more ouch! My head...
Huh? Bluebell? Why is she here? Well, at least she's alive.

"You can't sleep like that."
I mumble as I cover her with my blanket, it's just like her to fall asleep at someone's bedside, but where's Rain? Wait there's someone next to me in bed? Rain? I remove the sheet that covers him. Yup, that's Rain. But he looks in pain, I look over him for injuries. He's been hit in the stomach pretty hard. But he should be fine though. He'll be in pain for a few days but other than that he should be fine. I think-

"Miss Forestwood, the king would like to see you."
Forestwood? I haven't heard that for a while. so David wants to talk? I haven't seen him since he was young. More importantly, I need to ask him how this happened. Wait who is this maid? No, it doesn't matter right now

"Ah... thank you, I'll be right there."

"Of course Miss Forestwood, I shall wait for you outside the door."
She said while bowing, then she closed the door. Okay, I softly get out of the bed, oh there's a dresser. It should have something I can wear. These are good, I picked a leaf green Mage cloak. It's a pretty good one, made from tearmetal. Going to keep this one, I open the door and step out.

"Miss Forestwood, this way if you please."

"Yes, thank you, please lead the way"
I say to the maid. And she leads me passed many rooms and the such.
However, one room strikes my interest.

"Wait"
I say while walking into the room. Wait... this is the room of a Mage. A strong one at that. No maybe even an Arch-Mage. The amount of Mana that's gathered is... it almost unbelievable.

"Who's room is this"
I asked but the maid seems to be in distress not knowing what to do.

"Um... miss I can't tell you, I'm terribly sorry!"
She said while bowing deeply. so need to know huh? Well, Whoever this person is they haven't been here long. I wonder who it is, this is going to bother me now.

"Alright, thank you maid-san please continue taking me to the king."
After I said that reluctantly the maid bowed lightly and continued walking quickly. After we arrive at a pair of huge doors, time to ready myself! OK! I'm 167 years old, this kid who plays a king will tell me everything. Okay! I can do this!
At my nod, the maid opens the smaller door and lets me in.

"Freya Forestwood, I welcome you to my palace."
Oi David, who do you think you're talking to, you child. You should at least come down from that throne of yours To welcome me. I mean you'd think he'd act a little different to a friend as old as me.

"Ah David, it's been awhile. How have you been?"
"Freya. Here and now. I am Called. King."
He didn't.

"Bahaha! I got you Freya! Bahahaha!"
haha, he is dead.

"David. Do you remember when you were a child... and I gave you that plush deer"
"Wait Freya you are not actually mad...  Are you?"
"Do you still have it I wonder..."
"Okay, Freya you win I'll stop just please don't say anything more..."
He said while dropping his head down. That'll show you to try and mess with me. I've got dirt on everyone in this place.

"David, enough games. What happened to my village?"
He straightened his back and he's serious now.
"Freya... seven days ago the village elder was testing the future abilities of the children of that village."
"Yea and? What does that have to do with anything?"
"Freya, please don't interrupt. This is important."
This isn't normal He's very serious. I'll listen quietly then.

"When the time came for twins, named Rain and Bluebell. He had seen something. He had seen two very different futures for both of them. Both have the potential to become the Hero of legend. But at the same time, they both could become the Evil king."

"What... no..."
"Freya there is still a chance... for one of them at least."
"What do y-you mean...?"
"The elder also found out that if one was the Evil king the other would be the Hero."
"Wait you're saying that one of them will be the Hero, but the other would... would be a monster...?"
David nodded slowly and painfully. But why is it them? No, anyone but them. Those two are inseparable. If this happens one would have to... to kill the other.

"No! David there Must be another way! It doesn't have to be this way right!?!"
No... David, don't look away from me. Please tell me there's another way...

"This is a fate too cruel for children"
"Who... who are you?"
I say to the man who walked in, that robe he's wearing... it's the Mage I'm sure, the one whose room I looked through. No one else could have such a magical presence.

"My name is not of interest to you, but this is,"
he said while holding out a small jewel.

"Wait that's..."

Reign Of The Blood King: Rain 2 "Friends"

Reign Of The Blood King: Rain 2 "Friends"
_________________________________________________________________________________

Rain pulled Bell's hand as they ran behind a house. He stopped Bell from running into view. Then he took a look himself. He held his mouth from what he saw. The village he grew up in, his home. Was now ablaze. As he watched the knights' movement something caught his eye. Something golden, and there was only one thing in the entire village that was gold. Feya's hair.

Feya was a half-elf, the only one in the village. Her, Rain, Anreum and Bell would often play together. Rain pulled Bell though the homes that once was their friends'. Crawling under windows, Rain shielded Bell's eyes from what was in the rooms they pasted. The stench that came from the rooms was almost unbearable. They had to stop to let Bell vomit, Rain did a few time too. Slowly but surely they went from home to home as to avoid the Knights attacking the village. they past the home of the baker that would give Rain and his sister bread. they were going to pass Anreum's house but Rain stopped and went in. he took Bell and hid her in the kitchen. then he looked around the home of his friend.

the house was already ransacked, anything and everything was everywhere. he waked into the main bedroom. but before he open the door he stopped, he could smell something it was something that was in the air all day but whatever was behind that door had the most nauseating smell. something was yelling at Rain not to open the door. Against his better judgment, he reached and grabbed the door knob. turning it slowly till he heard a click. he pushed the door then quickly covered his mouth to stop his scream as tears flowed down his cheeks fell on into the liquid on the floor.

Anreum and his parents were beast-kin, beast-kin were a race of magic creatures made by Mages. Just about all humans thought of them little more then an servants of man. However, there will be someone who hates someone or some race more then anything else. such a man found Anreum's parents, He thought of them like animals, so he treated them like it. Rain had loved them like an aunt and uncle he couldn't take it and fell to his knees. his body tried to vomit but nothing came out since his stomach was already empty. Just pain, both physically and mentally as he tried to stand but he fell again. He crawled to Anreum's room, praying, hopping he wasn't dead. when he got to the door it was already open, not sure if he could take another sight like before he hesitated but forced himself to look. The room was destroyed but Anreum wasn't there. it was empty, no blood, nobody, just empty. Rain didn't know if Anreum was dead or not. but he couldn't just sit on the floor. he managed to stand again if barely.

walking back to the kitchen he stumbled every now and then, he got Bell and then left. Rain had to keep wipe his tears often. the only good thing was they were close the wagon, also just about all the knights were out of sight. They carefully walked to the wagon. Feya wasn't moving, she just laid there. Covered by a red cloak. She told Rain she was 33 this year but since she was a half-elf her mental age and physical appearance were that of an 11-year-old.

"Feya! Are you ok?!?"

Feya didn't even flinch, Rain raised up her shoulders and her head fell back. Rain was sure she was dead, Bell who was behind Rain was trying not to scream or cry. Rain remember something Eris had taught him it was only a small thing that hardly could even be called a memory. But Rain tried it not even knowing what it is. Rain put his pointer and middle finger on Feya's neck. He didn't know he was looking for, at least he couldn't remember what he was looking for. He felt nothing, he tried moving his fingers, then he felt it. A beat, a pulse, it was weak but it was there. She was alive, Rain felt overjoyed.

"There! Captain I think I found them!"

Reality struck Rain in the gut along with a stone from a knight's sling. Rain hadn't felt this kind of pain before. The only thing that was close to the pain he felt was when he had fallen out of a tree and hit a large rock. It was an lingering pain that wouldn't fade.

"Idiot! Don't hurt them!"

One of the knights shouted to one who had just used the sling. Bell was on the verge of tears, Rain wasn't crying for Bell. He knew if he cried again they couldn't get away. The Knight was getting closer. Rain picked up Feya but couldn't hold her without almost dropping her. He put her on his back and took bell's hand.

"Run!"

Rain cry out to Bell, but the knights also started to run after them. Just about all the knights had stopped what they were doing and turned to chase them as well. Gritting his teeth and holding in his tears. He kept running, only looking back to make sure he still had Bell & Feya. They were almost there. Rain could see the forest, so he ran even faster. His vision started to fade, it got darker and darker till it went completely black.

"RAIN!"

Pandora's Box Chapter 4

_________________________________________________________________________________
In the dinner room were wood floors, limestone walls and two dragon bone chandeliers. A single maid stood at each pair of doors that were the exits.

The dinning table itself was bigger then a normal dining room. It was long and narrow, with at least 26 seats on each side. There were candies every two feet in the middle of the table.

The massive table was a hardly ever used. Neal had liked to eat in his room, but today was special.

Neal sat in the seat that was all the way to the end. To his right Astolo, his left was Asphodel. Next to her was Durose then Bella. Next to Astolo was Amodii then Dreya.

"My this is delicious... Oh before I forget, any questions?" (Astolo)

The only one in the room who's eating so happily is Astolo. Everybody else was eating too they just weren't so joyful. Set aside Astolo everyone had thinking expressions. Even the maids seemed to be "not all there".

"Then let's say Asphodel was chosen, would I be able to become a concubine?" (Dreya)

"Noooope" (Astolo)

She answered Dreya without any hesitation. Yet still as happy as ever.

"Any other questions?" (Astolo)

No one said a thing and just kept eating. Asphodel looked up multiple time to say something but stopped herself.

The group just sat there eating quietly.

                                ***

Asphodel lad in her bed and pondered

Today was... Confusing I mean Queen!?! Really Astolo...? Ah I can feel my face. It's hot, really hot.

Asphodel rolled and kicked at nothing in bed like the teenage girl she was.

But really me Queen...? But then Neal and I would be married...! We would, we'd...

The poor girl's red face only got redder as the night went on.

While Asphodel was well, being herself. Neal and Astolo talked in the throne room.

"You know dad I really only want you to be happy. You've been in this big place alone for so long. I just... Isn't it lonely? I mean it's been 20 years yet you still look the same as the day you took me in." (Astolo)

"Astolo I won't lie to you, I was lonely once. I would wonder why I never aged or why no kingdom could ever beat me. There was a time when I did almost anything just because I could. I started many wars made some friends too but none of that helped." (Neal)

He paused and took a breath in. Astolo held her breath paying very close attention to what the man she called father had say.

"I had declared war against a kingdom known as Lleh Liff. They weren't a strong kingdom and had declared surrender not two weeks after the first skirmish. I had gone to see what one of their village had been. The small village I went to had been attacked be bandits, without the protection of their own knights they were defenseless. In fact there was some people still being attacked when I arrived. I ran over but it was too late... The man and woman had been killed. The woman however clung onto life if only by a thread. When she saw me she pleaded me to save her child. And with her dying breathe she told me where she hid the child. That's how I found you under that old shed." (Neal)

Astolo tried but couldn't help but cry. About halfway she had started to hug Neal.

"I haven't been lonely for twenty years because of you my child." (Neal)
